Easy DIY Seating Chart

One of the most dreaded aspects of every couples planning process is the reception seating chart. How many tables will you need? What size tables do you want? Who will sit where? Have no fear, with this simple DIY seating chart, all your worries will be out the window. With just  few easy steps you can have all your guests perfectly placed.

You will need a few things to get started:

  • Poster Board
  • Sharpies
  • Can
  • Sticky Notes(multi-colored)

Take the poster board and lay it on a flat surface such as a counter or table. Next, after you have your number of guests and tables you will need, you can make a mock floor plan. Take a can and trace the bottom to make a perfect circle (the size of your can may vary depending on the number of guests you have at each table). After  you have your tables drawn, your mock floor plan is almost complete.

You can now take a Sharpie and number your tables, as well as label your sticky notes. Having multiple colors of sticky notes is key – each color will categorize your guests: his, hers, friends, and work. The last step is simple, place your guests at the table you think they fit best.

The great thing about this DIY seating chart is that if you mess up there is no erasing or crossing out, simply peel off the sticky note and make a new one. This DIY seating chart will help you save a lot of time and aggravation planning your big day.
